Our origin story begins in the mid-1990s, when our founder, Bill Whyte, used to work as a carpenter. As a result of the harsh New England winters, his hands would crack and split from the cold conditions. One night, he mixed beeswax and olive oil to create a soothing balm, and he found great relief in using it. This led him to share it with his community, and thus the story of Badger began.

Badger sunscreen products are known for their simplicity and effectiveness. The mineral sunscreens specialize in uncoated zinc oxide and contain organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, and plant-based inactive ingredients like beeswax, jojoba, and other essential oils. They are also free of DEET and reef safe.

When applying our mineral sunscreens, we recommend warming the product by rubbing it between your hands before application. For full protection, it should be reapplied at least every two hours, and we advise using about a shot glass-full for adults to cover the entire body.
